The Joys of running

I have been working out for 1 week now and I feel great. I started at 377 and I am now at 363. I am impressed but I know my workouts could be better. Surprising to me my favorite workout is jogging. My post are normaly real long with some background info but i will try to keep this one real short. My first time hitting the treadmill I walked/jogged for 30 minutes, 5 minute cool down for 1.75 miles. Now I could have easily walked for another 30 minutes but i got bored and stopped.

The next day I decided to take it up a notch to 45 minutes. on this jog my cardio had already improved, I went from a speed of 3.0 up to 4.5 at 2 to 3 minute burst then back down to 3.0 I don't have to tell runners this but for those of you who have never jogged/ran for distance there is no better feeling than catching your second wind. Second wind if i had to explain it, it would be like this. You know that feeling when you are huffing and puffing, your body is exgausted and you just can't go on? Well if you would have sucked it up with a little mind over matter and fought through that pain; the second wind was right around the corner. The second wind is like, well to me feels like I am freshly stepping on the treadmill. My body tried to lie and tell me it could not go on and we needed to stop but realized I was not buying it so it quit whining and got back to work. Not only the feeling of being able to breath and control my breathing again felt good, I think the biggest part and thing that felt the best was knowing I am capable of so much more than I though I was able to produce.

I finally understand why people run, and I love it. I still have a long way to go if I want to run in this Marathon but I welcome the challenge.

IS IT IN U?
